Although Bowie elected not to tour Black Tie White Noise, he made a couple of appearances on American television to promote the album in May 1993, performing tracks with the help of Al B Sure! on The Arsenio Hall Show and The Tonight Show With Jay Leno. Later in the year, on December 1st, David compered the Concert Of Hope, a World Aids day benefit at Wembley Arena attended by the Princess of Wales, where the acts included George Michael, Mick Hucknall and kd Lang.
