Hermione Farthingale leaves Feathers in early February leaving David and John Hutchinson to continue as a duo for three more gigs.
FEBRUARY:
*21st Feb: David visited The Magic Village club at Cromfort Court, off Market Street in the city centre. John Constantine who worked in the cloakroom and behind the bar recalls hanging David's coat up and charging him sixpence..."I knocked on the office door to inform the manager Roger Earle that Mr Bowie was in the club. Roger rushed out to greet him and I recall Bowie playing a great acoustic set to about thirty people in the bar, just for the fun of it, and as a warm-up for his concert at the Free Trade Hall the following night. It was fantastic".

APRIL:
*The Arts Lab at The Three Tuns Public House, Beckenham was originally called the Folk Club with the title 'Growth'. Organised by David and Mary Finnigan, the Folk Club was in reality a room at the back of the Three Tuns Public House on Beckenham High Street. After the 4th week, so many people attended that the club had to expand into the conservatory and the garden.
Some of David's performances at the Arts Lab do exist on tape. Chas Lippeatt who handled the Arts Lab PA system and film unit used to tape record the evenings music for a free lending library sponsored by the Arts Lab.
MAY:
*10th May: Strawbs invite David to their Arts Lab to guest on the BBC2 'Colour Me Pop' programme. David appeared with Strawbs miming to one of their songs 'Poor Jimmy Wilson'. Strawbs performed 'The Man Who Called Himself Jesus' and they were also joined by Paul Buckmaster (Cello), Terry Cox of Pentangle (Drums), Roger Coulam of Blue Mink (Organ), Tony Visconti (Recorders) and David Bowie (Vocals). The BBC2 programme was transmitted the following month on 14th June 1969 at 10.55pm.
*25th May: The first date of the newly named Arts Lab, Tucker Zimmerman makes a guest appearance.
JUNE:
JULY:
*25th July: At the International Song Festival in Malta, David performed two songs - a Maltese song to which he had written an English lyric to earlier in May and his own "When I Live My Dream". He was voted second to Spanish entrant Christina. "David gave an impromptu solo performance aboard the USS Saratoga for the crew of the ship whilst in port.
*31st July: The Carosello Internazionale del Disco - Italian Song Festival - held at the Teatro Premio, in Monsummano Terme, Pistoria, David wins first prize for 'Best Produced Record' performing "When I Live My Dream".
AUGUST:
SEPTEMBER:
*13th Sept: Over 1000 people attend Bromley's first ever open air pop concert. David compered the four-hour event which was organised by Ravensbourne College of Art student Geoffrey Bradbury.
*28th Sept: David appears at a free concert organised by the Hull Arts Centre. Also on the bill are The Rats, Hutch, Chest Fever, Michael Chapman, Mighty Baby and Juniors Eyes.
UNKNOWN:
*Unknown Date: David performed at The London Hospital Medical College in Whitechapel. Tim Goffe who had previously been the DJ at the Beckenham Free Festival on 16th August was social secretary for the medical college and booked David for their College Hop event.
OCTOBER:
David Bowie was support on the 'Changes 69' UK tour by Humble Pie, also supporting were Love Sculpture and Griffin. This short 10-day tour took place between 8th-26th October.
NOVEMBER
*7th Nov: David embarks on a two week tour of Scotland, with the opening gig in Perth (not Edinburgh as billed). David is backed by Junior's Eyes, Mick Wayne (Guitar), Tim Renwick (Guitar), John Lodge (Bass Guitar) and John Cambridge (Drums).
*18th Nov: The Croydon Arts Lab became known as 'Egg'.
*19th Nov: The show at the Dome in Brighton had David Bowie as third artist on the bill. He performed three songs acoustically, one of which was "Space Oddity". There were a total of eight acts on the bill which included: The Fox, Jeff Dexter, David Bowie, Steamhammer, Success, Strawbs and Edgar Broughton Band.
*20th Nov: The Purcell Room is located inside The Royal Festival Hall. David was backed by Copus.
*26th Nov: At the Ripley Arts Centre, The Venerable Chime Rinpoche talks about Buddhism, Tibet and Meditation. Music with David Bowie and Comus
